Sleep Lyrics

Steppenwolf

Words and music by George Biondo

Please don't talk no more
It's just that I'm half asleep
And not a sudden case of nasty manner
You've been here all night
Just waiting for the final line
to make this more than a warm encounter

I'm tired and I want to go to bed
I need some time to rest my weary head
With all your worry about the things I need
Why don't you let me
Why don't you let me
Why don't you let me sleep

Please turn out the light
I don't care if you stay or go
Just as long as I can get some shut eye
And if I don't reply to all your mumbling in the dark
It's your fault that I'm too tired to answer

I'm tired and I want to go to bed
I need some time to rest my weary head
And if there's one more night like one of these
Then you better let me, you better let me
You better let me sleep
